[Getting Started as a Manufacturer](https://knowledge.mfg.com/getting-started-as-a-manufacturer?hsLang=en) # How to Unlock to Quote & Contact the Buyer ### **How to Unlock to Quote & Contact the Buyer** Once you’ve filtered the marketplace and found an RFQ worth pursuing, here’s how to review it, unlock it, contact the buyer, and start your quote. **Why it matters:** Unlocking an RFQ gives you access to the full job details and direct buyer contact information. Reaching out personally — especially by phone — can go a long way in winning the job. #### **Getting to the Marketplace** Click **RFQ Marketplace** in your left-hand navigation bar, then scroll down to browse available RFQs. #### **Reviewing an RFQ** 1. Click **View Details** on any RFQ to get a quick overview of the job. 2. To see attached files, click **View Full RFQ** or the RFQ name. This opens a new tab where you’ll be prompted to sign an NDA. 3. Sign the NDA to access and review the job files. This is not a commitment to quote — it simply grants you access to review the details. #### **Unlocking an RFQ** If the job is a good fit, unlock it to proceed. How you unlock depends on your credits: - With unlock credits: **Click RFQ Unlock** and confirm to use one credit. - Without unlock credits: **Click the Quote button** (which will show a price) and agree to pay to unlock. All unlocked RFQs are saved under **Unlocked RFQs** for easy access. #### **Contacting the Buyer** Click the buyer’s name to view their profile, including how long they’ve been with MFG and their direct contact information — email, phone, and messaging. Don’t underestimate a phone call; a personal conversation can make all the difference in winning a job. #### **Starting or Saving Your Quote** 1. Open the RFQ and click **Start Quote** to begin building your quote right away. 2. Not ready yet? Scroll down and click **Mark for Quoting** to save the RFQ as a draft. 3. To return to a draft, go to your **Quotes** area and click **Edit Quote** to pick up where you left off. Questions?
