# What kind of files are accepted for RFQs?

## Overview of what files are accepted and how to upload them

Whenever possible, upload your **original design or manufacturing files** (STEP, IGES, SLDPRT, DXF, DWG, STL, PDF). It’s also highly recommended to include **detailed 2D drawings or reference images**. Providing complete files ensures suppliers can deliver the most accurate and competitive quotes.

If you don’t have design files, you can still submit **sketches, reference images, or written descriptions** of your project. However, most suppliers need proper design files to provide accurate pricing and lead times.

If you’re missing those files, consider working with a **designer or engineer** before awarding the job. You can also post your RFQ under the **Engineering and Design** category — where qualified design shops can help you create the necessary files.
