Exploring the RFQ Marketplace - Premium

Exploring the RFQ Marketplace (Premium)

As a Premium customer, the RFQ Marketplace automatically surfaces jobs within your subscription’s capabilities. Use the filters, sorting tools, and buyer information available to you to find and pursue the right jobs.

Why it matters: Time is money. Knowing how to filter and target the right RFQs — and how to engage buyers directly — is what separates manufacturers who win jobs from those who don’t.

Getting to the Marketplace

Click RFQ Marketplace in your left-hand navigation bar.

A Note on Your Subscription: If you see an Upgrade to Quote button on an RFQ instead of the standard quote button, it means that category is listed on your profile but falls outside your current Premium subscription. If you’d like to quote that RFQ, reach out to our customer success team at support@mfg.com.

Preset Filters

At the top of the marketplace, look for these two preset filters — especially useful if you’re just getting started:

  • RFQs with no quotes — Zero competition.

  • RFQs with less than three quotes — Low competition, with a good chance to build a relationship with the buyer.

Advanced Filters

Click Advanced Filters to narrow results further:

  • Process — Shows the categories on your profile. Target areas where you have extra capacity.

  • Technique — Drill down within a process for more specific job types.

  • Materials — Filter by the materials you work with.

  • Required Certifications — Match jobs to certifications you hold.

  • Tolerance — Filter by tolerances you specialize in.

Sort By

By default, the marketplace prioritizes Great Match RFQs based on your profile content — another reason to keep your profile up to date. You can also sort by:

  • RFQs closing soon

  • Highest or lowest quantity

  • Earliest delivery date

Reviewing an RFQ

Click View Details to see a full overview of the job, including purpose, certifications, important dates, preferred manufacturing location, and payment terms. A few things to pay close attention to:

  • Shipping — If it says Buyer, you don’t need to build shipping into your quote. If it says Manufacturer, make sure you do.

  • Payment Terms — If your preference differs from the buyer’s, note it on your quote and bring it up during any outreach.

  • Multiple Quantities — These help the buyer evaluate pricing at different volumes. If awarded, the purchase order will reflect the final quantity they decide on.

To view attached files, click View Full RFQ or the RFQ name. You’ll be prompted to sign an NDA before accessing the files.

Engaging the Buyer

Wherever you see a company name in blue, click it to open a side panel with the buyer’s contact information, how long they’ve been with MFG, and any other open RFQs they have. Use this to introduce yourself, ask questions, and start building a relationship.

Not Ready to Quote Yet?

Scroll down within the RFQ and click Mark for Quoting to save it as a draft. It will appear in your Quotes area whenever you’re ready to come back to it and click Start Quote.

Remember: The content on your profile drives which RFQs are surfaced to you as Great Matches. Keep it up to date to make sure you’re seeing the most relevant jobs.
